It is never too early to begin planning for your retirement. Your potential CTRB pension benefit is an important part of your whole financial plan. As a state agency, CTRB is unable to recommend or refer you to a specific financial planner or firm. There are, however, many financial planning resources on the Internet. The Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards provides tips on choosing a financial planner, information on the benefits of financial planning and offers a free financial planning resource kit. The National Council on Teacher Retirement provides many retirement resources on their LIFEPLAN page. The American Savings Education Council offers several online worksheets, calculators and brochures to help you evaluate your savings and retirement goals.
